Fairhaven Farm is a quality Hanoverian breeding farm located in Waterford, Virginia. We are the home of the Class 1 Elite stallion, Grusus, and 1997 Devon mare champion Rumpelstilzchen, who is trained and competed by Hilda Gurney. Our farm includes:

GRUSUS

-- Elite Hanoverian Stallion, Class 1 rating
-- Overall score of 121.34 at 1983 Adelheidsdorf Stallion Performance Test, placing him in the Top 10.
-- Sire: Grundstein. The legendary Grundstein is Germany's leading sire in both jumping and dressage, with a German FN Dressage Index of 178 and a Jumping Index of 142 (1995). Grundstein's sons are noted international competitors, including Gracioso of the German team.
-- Dam: Dubry (Duft II/Abhang I)

Since being imported to the United States as a top dressage competitor, Grusus has produced dozens of award-winning foals noted for their athleticism, superb conformation and kind temperament.

GERSCHWIN

Gerschwin has been in training with Hilda Gurney, with rider German Schneider. He was High Point of the Dressage Association of Southern California's annual show in 1998. Judges comment on his lovely gaits and commanding presence.

SPS RUMPELSTILZCHEN

Rumpelstilzchen is a mare of unmatched quality in the United States. She was the 1997 Mare Champion, Reserve Mature Horse Champion and Best Hanoverian Mare at Devon. In her performance testing in Germany, she received an unprecedented overall score of 8.5. Her gaits were all 8s, and her free jumping 10s. She was rated an overall 9-type in conformation. Rum has had a foal by successful emryo transfer and is currently being competed by Hilda Gurney in California. She's had a 77 this year!

SPS GALAXIS

-- Sire: Ganymed. Son of the legendary Grundstein, Ganymed was 1st of 70 stallions in his performance testing (Adelheidsdorf, 134.19). His progeny are noted for correct conformation and scopey movement. He was a winner in show jumping as well as advanced dressage competition.
-- Dam: SPS Black Beauty (Black Sky/Wohlstand)
-- Breeder: A. Middelkampf

Galaxis is an extremely elegant mare with outstanding gaits. She received an 8-walk, 9-trot and 8-free jumping in her German performance testing. Her progeny have proven to be exemplary. Her 1993 filly, Gloree (owned by Barbara Hamel) was the Top Mare of the 1998 American Hanoverian Society inspections. Fairhaven Farm is proud to offer her stunning 1999 filly, Gallatea.

SPS WANKA

Wanka is a powerful, classical, substantial type with big gaits. She has a gorgeous head and powerful movement from behind. At Devon in 1993, she was Reserve Mare Champion. She has an approved stallion son in Germany and her 1993 colt (Gerschwin of Fairhaven Farm) is a stallion prospect successfully competing in dressage. Her 1999 colt, Gambit, is gorgeous and correct.
